To make a long story short, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is a tool that sits close to the top of the Canon offerings. It's a fantastic camera, but it needs investment from the user to really show its best side. Buying it in hope that your photography will get better is putting the cart in front of the horses. One last note. Get the EOS-1D X AF
The Original Canon 5D is Still Going Strong. by Peter Manktelow. I still frequently use a Canon 5D Classic or “ Mark I ” – the first affordable full-frame DSLR released almost 10 years ago. This might be a point of contention with other photographers, but I think it is still a relevant camera. For people looking for an affordable full
It has to be said though, the Canon 5D Mark IV is still an incredible camera. If you look at the release dates of the most popular full frame cameras from Nikon and Canon, it’ll paint a picture of why so many Nikon shooters actually jumped ship to Canon. In 2014 Nikon releases the Nikon D750. All was good. In 2016, Canon releases the 5D Mark IV.

Launched in August 2016, the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is a full-frame camera brought in to replace the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. It has a shorter battery life. But the upgrade includes the following: A larger sensor; A higher frame rate; A higher ISO limit; Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connections

Update: Went from just wanting an upgrade and being overall happy to absolutely loving it. 30 mp is a good bump up in terms of resolution without being monstrous (they are still big files), but the best thing is that good hand held shooting is still possible (this thing rocks with the Canon 100-400 Mk II). Canon EOS 5D Mark III Handling. Canon EOS 5D MarkIII Top Handling - The camera feels very well built with a solid construction and good handling, the ergonomics of the camera are good with a Ostensibly a very good camera - except Canon made no support for the USB connection - how ridiculous is that (they made one for the Mk II)? Not a gem of a camera, it is also very heavy with battery pack and an L lens. To start off I got a Sony a7iii with money I saved from working as I wanted a camera that would stand the test of time. Im beginning to shoot weddings, and work in a studio too. My boss in the studio still rocks canon 5d mk3s and ever since using them I prefer the colours and overall feel of the camera. (Comparatively, the R5 is still a good value compared to the 5D Mark III. The latter’s original selling price is the equivalent of $4284.68 in today’s money.)

I have a 5d mark iii, 2x 5d mark iv, and recently got the r5. I haven't shotna wedding with it yet, but have done 5 or so family/engagement shoots. I've been absolutely loving the r5, and use it probably 85% of the time over the IV. Usually I have my 85 1.4L on the R5 and the 35 1.4L on my 5d IV.
As far as good. I’m thinking of upgrading to a used 5D Mark III and getting a Canon 24-70L F2.8 to replace my crappy Sigma 17-50 F2.8. Bigger sensor = more light and better camera performance I would guess then. The other point being: The 5DMKIII and 24-70L is about the same price as a 5DMKIV.
Options. 04-30-2013 08:49 AM. First go into your menu settings "Clear all settings". Than set the dial on the left side to 'M'. Now turn the small wheel on the right top and the big wheel on the back for adjustment. You may have put the camera in 'silent shooting', too. More likely than live View mode. EB.
