George R.R. Martin takes a lot of heat for the delay of "The Winds of Winter," the planned next book in the "Game of Thrones" series, but honestly I totally get why it would take him more time to finish. I love all the side adventures and back story that have made the series so long but in retrospect would have preferred that he have done a tight trilogy that told the main story and backtracked to fill in the rest via short stories/comics/etc. like the ones
Yeah, his estimation of 75% wasn't reassuring at all. Especially since it's natural for writers (imo) to get into trouble towards the end and have to rethink some of the storylines. As a book fan, and someone who frequents book fan places, I think most of us have completely given up hope of ever getting winds, let alone a dream of spring. The worst part is dance of dragons ends on just like cliffhangers everywhere, and all of these sick ass battles ABOUT to happen.
Bruh I wan in my first year of Uni when the book came out. Now I'm married with a 4 y/o. That's how long it's been. I've pretty much lost hope that I'll ever read winds of winter. At this point I'm not even sure I want to.
