I have a Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6HDI year 2014 with just over 16k. The engine code is DV6C automatic. A few weeks ago as I stopped on a motorway exit slip road the car went into limp mode. The instrument panel lit up light a Christmas tree saying ESP / ASR was at fault. The maximum speed was 20 miles and radiator fan continuously was running
It's the manufacturer's way of keeping their emissions figures "accurate". Mine is disabled permanently, but this is due to it having an issue and stalling on the restart. After a couple of stalled restarts the ECO stays off permanently until I turn it back on. Even after turning engine on and off and few times.

Although within service interval they said it was common for water to build up in the filter and then freeze in cold conditions blocking the flow of diesel. They also said the EGR valve was sticking open. I got them to change the fuel filter but not the EGR valve as they couldn't do it that day and it would've added £250 on to the bill.
